Experience
2016-present
Writer/Reporter/Photographer at Beyond The W
I have diligently and extensively covered the WNBA for Beyond The W since 2016. Among what I have done is interview various dignitaries within women's basketball, generate informative and visually appealing written, photographic and social media content and establish strong relationships with others within women's basketball media. Among the high points of my time at Beyond The W was covering the 2018 All-Star Game in Minnesota and the 2022 All-Star weekend in Chicago.
2020-present
Writer and Photographer at Prep Network
In 2020, I joined Prep Network with an emphasis on their Prep Girls Hoops South Carolina website. Among what I have done since joining has included generating high-resolution photos for use on their website, covering 39 state championship games and delivering extensive written and social media coverage of the 2022 Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.
2019-2019
Digital Producer at Louisville Courier-Journal
In 2019, I moved briefly to Louisville, Kentucky to join the Courier-Journal as a digital producer. My tasks included editing stories for clarity and AP style, adding digital elements such as links and photo galleries to stories to make them more visually appealing and posting content to the outlet's numerous social media pages.
2016-2018
Sports Reporter at Independent Tribune (Concord, NC)
In 2016, I landed a job at a newspaper in the Charlotte suburb of Concord as I joined the Independent Tribune that covers Concord, Kannapolis, Mt. Pleasant and Harrisburg. In addition to delivering extensive coverage of the area's high school and American Legion sports, I also had the privilege of covering the 2018 NASCAR All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
2015-2015
Intern at News Radio 106.7 (Atlanta, GA)
The last "class" I ever did while at Georgia State University was actually an internship I landed with WYAY-FM News Radio 106.7. The station has since been sold to Educational Media Foundation and is now airing the K-Love Christian format, but I performed many tasks while at the station. These included conducting interviews with newsmakers, writing scripts for on-air personalities to read and editing sound clips from Fox 5, CNN and Westwood One for use on air.
2012-2015
Sports Reporter/Sports Editor/Correspondent at The Signal & GSTV
It was in 2012 when I began attending Georgia State University - and doing as much work as I could within its student media. These included stints at The Signal - its student-ran weekly newspaper and GSTV - its student-ran television station. I was sports editor during the historic Georgia State men's basketball season of 2015 and won an award at SEJC for excellence in reporting hard news. I also was Staff Member of the Year for 2015 and was an At-Large Member of GSU's Committee of Student Communication.
2013-2013
Delta Air Lines Reporter at Global Atlanta
One of the classes I attended while at Georgia State involved being a writer for Global Atlanta - a website that covers the city and state's impact on global economics. We had to choose an element of the state to write about. I decided to write about Delta Air Lines and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - the world's busiest airport - and how it is such a key element in the state's economy and in world travel.
Education
2012-2015
Georgia State University | Bachelor's Degree
In 2015, I graduated from Georgia State University as a Journalism major and a Film and Video minor. My concentration was in Telecommunications and I graduated with a 3.7 GPA. In addition, I transferred to Georgia State following a stint where I attended West Georgia Technical College in Douglasville, Georgia.
