Projects

Georgia State Signal

I had the opportunity to cover a variety of sports during my time at the GSU Signal - including the men's basketball team of 2014-15 that made a historic run to the NCAA tournament. I also covered women's basketball, football, softball and volleyball (indoor and beach) during my time with the student newspaper. One of the stories I worked on was a preview of the 2014 volleyball team who was welcoming a new coach at the time into the fold in Sally Polhamus.

Georgia State Television

In addition to what I did while I was at The Signal, I also spent some time at GSTV, the school's student-ran television station. I even won an award for hard news reporting at the Southeastern Journal Conference in 2014.

Among the stories I had the privilege of covering was what graduating seniors were planning on doing after graduating, the Georgia State Office of Sustainability and SGA elections.

Recording Time

Independent Tribune

From 2016 to 2018, I had the opportunity to work in the Charlotte suburb of Concord at the Independent Tribune. Among the schools I had the chance to cover were Cox Mill, Hickory Ridge, Central Cabarrus, Northwest Cabarrus, A.L. Brown, Jay M. Robinson, Concord, Mt. Pleasant, Concord Academy and Cannon School. In 2018, I also covered the NASCAR All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600.

Courier Journal

My time in Louisville may have been shorter than some of my previous destinations, but I still managed to get a bit of work done during my time at the Courier Journal. I was a Digital Producer for the Gannett-owned outlet.

Among what I did while I was there included adding videos and photos to stories to make them more visually appealing, editing stories for AP style, adding keywords to headlines to make them more SEO friendly and posting stories to their social media channels. I also assisted in the coverage of the 2019 Kentucky Derby that ended in controversy.

Podcasts

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of being a co-host and/or panelist on various podcasts and shows. Including co-hosting a pod with a few fellow GSU grads in Rashad Milligan (Rolling Out Magazine), Eric Yeboah (Bleacher Report) and Jeremy Johnson (On3). In addition, I also made appearances on Khristina Williams' Women's Sports Wednesday program she hosted on Spotify Live that ran throughout the 2022 WNBA season.

Prep Girls Hoops

In 2020, I began working with Prep Network with an emphasis on Prep Girls Hoops' South Carolina site. It was a challenging start given the pandemic, but I've eventually covered 39 state championship games at the Sumter Civic Center and the USC-Aiken Convocation Center. In addition, I have traveled the state covering more teams than most media outlets did, captured high-resolution photographs of games and players and traveled the country in 2022 to cover the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit.

Beyond The W

In 2016 after graduating from Georgia State, I was in search of my first post-graduate gig. I had an interest in possibly wanting to cover the WNBA. I spotted a Google search result for a website called Beyond The W where it was looking for a writer. I applied and the rest is history. I have created extensive content for two Olympics, conducted interviews with many figures within women's sports such as Callie Curry, Khristina Williams and Andrew Maraniss and covered two All-Star Games (2018 in Minnesota and 2022 in Chicago).

Voiceovers!

In the latter part of 2022, I decided to take my media foray to the next level by launching a VoiceOver page on the Voices.com website. Since then, I have managed to land a couple of bookings and am taking advice on how to increase my name within the VO world.

I have been praised in the past for having the voice of a broadcaster and a podcaster. I am confident this will bode well for me in my voice over journey.
